What is a Macawiis?

A Macawiis (or ma’awiis) is a traditional garment worn by Somali Men. It is a rectangular piece of cloth, typically wrapped around the waist.
They are found in numerous countries such as Yemen and Indonesia where they bare the name Izaar and Sarong respectively.

Where are your products made?

Our products are authentically sourced from Indonesia with attention to quality and detail.

What material are your products made of?

Our current selection of Macawiis are made from Rayon which is the standard material for a Macawiis. They are woven by hand using special techniques that have been cultivated for generations.

We aim to bring printed Macawiis in the future which are made by a machine.

Do you plan to have more products for Somali menswear?

Yes, we plan to introduce a range of different items such as hats, shirts, and more premium macawiis in the future. Stay tuned!

A Macawiis comes in only one size: 130 cm by 150 cm. Don’t worry about the size, as it fits 99% of people comfortably.

We offer two shipping options:

How long does an order take to dispatch?

• We aim to dispatch orders within 1-3 working days.
